WHY?


You can’t buy leaves to put on trees,
Or wind for the atmosphere.
And you can’t buy love or zest for life,
Or time to waste, or time to share.

You can’t buy stars for the night time sky,
Or snow for the mountain tops.
And you can’t buy a rainbow to hang on high,
When the rain and lightening stops.

You can’t buy a smile to paint on the face,
Of the man that has lost his way,
And you can’t buy peace for those in pain,
Their cries can be heard in vain.

You can’t buy strength to give to the weak,
Or for those that live in fear.
Their shouts for help are oh so loud,
Yet no one seems to hear.

With all the wealth that’s in this world,
Still hungry children die.
Their starving, haunted faces, stare back,
The question is, just……..WHY!
